he band is a quartette of veteran players, all having varied and extensive experience including club, festival and concert venues, as well as the recording studio. Sharing and performing music together for about a dozen years, they all have associations with other artists who are well known to the public. These guys like to rock it up … to party … with soul and style. You're 'Gumbo Folk' if you like dance it up or just get lost in the listenin'.

Kevin Belzner Kevin Belzner lays down the fat backbone of the groove on the drums, and has played pretty much everything including jazz. Kevin is most known for his work in the blues field, playing with folks like Big Dave McLean, Brent Parkin, Amos Garrett and Tim Williams. In fact, in addition to being a 'Gumbo Guy' he is the full time drummer for Tim's great band the Electro-Fires.

Rob Hollis Rob Hollis a honkytonk vocalist and guitarist for many years, also has been known to write a tune here and there. Some of these originals find their way into the stew. Rob also released a solo recording, "Highway of Love", in 2003. This recording features fellow 'Gumbo Guys' and other notable folk, and was favorably received by roots radio across Canada. Cindy Church found a 'top10' hit in the Hollis penned 'Rockabilly Heart'.

Suitcase James Suitcase James one of the finest traditional blues and rockabilly bassists residing in Alberta, may even be coaxed into vocalizing on occasion. He and Kevin have created one of the busiest rhythm sections working in the area . Suit is also a fulltime member of' The Electro-Fires' and freelances with the likes of Big Dave McLean, Brent Parkin, Mike Clark and others. He was a founding member of Calgary alt-rockabilly band 'The Alien Rebels' and at one time played on the road with music legend Ronnie Hawkins.

Mel Wilson Mel Wilson originally from Texas by way of the 'Frisco Bay area. this fine and well respected guitarist also brings unique vocal interpretations to the party. Mel has worked with many well known artists over the years. Most notably he is a past member of 'The Ian Tyson Band' playing guitar on some of Ian's recordings and also working with Diamond Joe White. Mel is a pre-eminent teacher of the instrument in south western Alberta.
